I Saw from the Beach
"'I Saw from the Beach' is an image about remembering; remembering our past, our families, and our friends. It was inspired by a gathering at a beach of my childhood to say good bye to a Great Aunt and Uncle. They had resident eagles on their property, overlooking the beach. During our gathering, we could all hear the cry of an eaglet as the adults, its parents, circled above us. Their spiraling overhead made me think of the circular nature of our lives as we go from times of grief to times of happiness; moments of birth and of death. And it made me profoundly aware of the importance of celebrating and remembering those who have touched our lives." |
